Program Overview


University Programs

The university offers various programs for students, including language courses and academic programs.


Language Courses

The teaching of the Greek language is done through analytical programs, according to the specifications for the six levels of language proficiency (Council of Europe) and is distinguished in the following:


  1. Semester and Academic Year Programs
    • The duration of semester programs is 12 weeks (October-December) and academic year programs is 24 weeks (October-May).
    • These programs are attended by undergraduate and graduate international scholarship holders or participants in student exchange programs (Erasmus, research, etc.), full-time students, and individual students residing in the surrounding area.
    • The programs are 20, 10, or 6 hours per week.
  2. Summer Programs
    • These programs have a duration of 4 weeks.
    • They are funded through tuition fees from international students or from corresponding programs.
  3. Language Practice Program
    • This program has a duration of 12 weeks.
    • It is funded through tuition fees, and the teaching is 3 hours per week.

For language courses, cases 1 and 2, the number of classes depends mainly on demand and the level of language proficiency of the participants. In case 1, the admission and registration of students in these classes are done through a placement exam. The date, place, and other details of the exam are announced in advance by the Laboratory's secretariat.
