The Grayson Highlands program is a backpacking trip that takes place from July 15-19, with a cost of $350. This program is situated within Grayson Highlands State Park, offering extraordinary recreational opportunities on and around the Appalachian Trail.

The program features 4-days, 3-nights of backpacking and camping along a historic section of the Appalachian Trail. The Grayson Highlands sit at a higher elevation, providing cooler temperatures throughout the month of June and July, making it an ideal summer backpacking destination.

Activities and Experience

Participants will have the opportunity to experience sweeping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, abundant birds and wildflowers, and even the chance to see wild ponies. The trail has mild elevation and slightly longer mileage, making it perfect for students who would like a little bit more challenge with backpacking.
