Online MSN: Family Nurse Practitioner Program

The online Master of Science in Nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) degree from Ohio University is designed to help students build the specialized skill set needed to provide advanced practice primary care for patients across the lifespan.

Curriculum Details

• The program requires 40 total credits and includes 11 courses.
• Students will also complete clinical practicum experiences in a primary care setting for a minimum of 750 direct care hours.
• The program is designed to be completed in six semesters on a part-time schedule.
• The curriculum is CCNE-accredited and trains students to use advanced assessment and diagnostic skills to develop treatment plans through both didactic and clinical performance coursework.

Program Outcome

Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to pursue certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from either the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
