Introduction to the Charles J. Ping International Leadership Award
The Charles J. Ping International Leadership Award was established in 2010 by International Student and Scholar Services to recognize outstanding leadership by international students enrolled in Ohio University. This award is named in honor of former President Emeritus Charles J. Ping, who served as the president of Ohio University and was a strong supporter of international education and exchange.
Purpose and Expansion
The award aims to acknowledge the leadership and contributions of F-1 or J-1 international students. In 2016, the award category was expanded to include students who are not in F-1 or J-1 nonimmigrant status, recognizing their leadership and contributions to the international community.
