Introduction
On the morning of May 17, 2024, the Guangdong Province Yue Dong Yue Xi Yue Bei area teacher full training - Huazhong Normal University elementary school mathematics backbone teacher advanced research class successfully concluded. The event was attended by Huazhong Normal University Basic Education College Dean and project chief expert Hu Zhongfeng, Dongguan Songshan Lake Central Primary School Vice Principal Liu Xianhu, Huazhong Normal University Basic Education College Lecturer and project class instructor Li Yue, and 50 mathematics backbone teachers from Shanwei City, Jieyang City, and six other counties (cities) districts.
Teaching Observation
Before the conclusion ceremony, the trainees observed a lesson presented by Yang Xinhua, a teacher from Dongguan Songshan Lake Central Primary School. The lesson was on the topic "Initial Understanding of Decimals" for third-grade students. Yang started by using the scores of Olympic champions to introduce the concept of decimals, guiding students to think about where they have seen decimals in real life. The students then wrote down the decimals on the blackboard, clarifying the composition and reading of decimals. Yang also created a teaching scenario, "Animal Fun Sports Competition," to introduce the problem of unit conversion between meters and centimeters. The students learned to master the conversion method through a combination of numbers and shapes. Finally, Yang used the problem of "average division" to explain the meaning of decimals. The lesson started with mathematical phenomena in real life, using interesting teaching scenarios and gradual teaching tasks, allowing students to grasp the key points of decimal recognition.
Trainee Learning Outcomes Presentation
After the lesson observation, the trainees presented their learning outcomes. Five groups of trainees shared their learning experiences and outcomes. The trainees not only reviewed the theoretical knowledge they learned but also shared their educational gains and learning experiences.
- The first group, Yinxing Group, summarized their learning outcomes in two stages: theoretical learning and follow-up learning. They also created a review video of their training, presenting their learning experiences and insights.
- The second group, Sichuang Group, shared their learning outcomes from four aspects: learning background, theoretical review, follow-up record, and problems encountered and solved. They also thanked the experts, project members, and fellow trainees for their support.
- The third group, Sanren Group, detailed their daily learning situation, sharing their learning experiences and insights. They encouraged their fellow trainees, saying, "Ordinary people can create extraordinary things."
- The fourth group, Shili Group, summarized their learning outcomes in three aspects: "time is short, but the experience is deep," "experts are special, and the benefits are deep," and "professionalism is deep, and the impact is lasting." They expressed their gratitude for the training opportunity and recognized the importance of continuous learning.
- The fifth group, Weiwu Group, presented their learning outcomes using a combination of text and images, showcasing their 12-day training experience and gains.
Training Conclusion Ceremony
After the trainees presented their learning outcomes, the training conclusion ceremony was held. The ceremony was hosted by Liu Wanting, Assistant Dean of the Basic Education College.
- Wu Jianwen, a representative of the trainees, reported on their learning experiences and outcomes, expressing their gratitude to the project team and Dongguan Songshan Lake Central Primary School for the training opportunity.
- Li Yue, Lecturer and Class Instructor of the Basic Education College, affirmed the trainees' learning outcomes and introduced the next stage of learning requirements and tasks.
- Hu Zhongfeng, Dean of the Basic Education College and project chief expert, summarized the training, praising the trainees' learning outcomes and encouraging them to continue learning and exchanging ideas after the training. He also advocated for the trainees to apply the teaching ideas and skills they learned to their future educational work, benefiting more teachers and students in the Yue Dong Yue Xi Yue Bei area.
Outstanding Trainee Award
At the end of the conclusion ceremony, Hu Zhongfeng and Liu Xianhu presented outstanding trainee certificates to the excellent trainees.
