Thesis Option
The thesis option requires an additional 12 credits of undergraduate research thesis courses (MTEN 480, MTEN 481, MTEN 482, MTEN 483) in place of some technical electives.
Co-op Option
The co-op option requires two semesters of co-op work experience (ENGR 310, ENGR 410) in place of some technical courses, extending the program to five years.
Technical Electives
Students must complete 12 credits of technically oriented, subject-related courses approved by their advisor. At least 6 credits must be taken from the following:

Academic Requirements
Students must earn a 2.0 minimum GPA and must meet appropriate departmental regulations, including an average GPA of 2.0 in all materials engineering courses.
