Program Overview
Introduction to the Integrated Bachelor of Laws Program
The University of Konstanz offers a unique and innovative approach to legal studies with its integrated Bachelor of Laws program. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in law, combining the benefits of a Bachelor's degree with the traditional German law degree (Staatsexamen).
Program Structure
The integrated Bachelor of Laws is a dual-degree program, where students are enrolled in both the Bachelor's program and the Staatsexamen program simultaneously. This means that students can earn two degrees in a single course of study, providing them with increased flexibility and career opportunities.
Benefits of the Program
The integrated Bachelor of Laws program offers several benefits to students, including:
- A Bachelor of Laws degree that covers all areas of law
- Recognition of academic achievements from the first semester onwards
- A degree that is not dependent on a single, final examination
- A fully accredited degree that is recognized internationally
- Easier access to further education and career opportunities, both domestically and internationally
- Reduced psychological barriers to completing the Staatsexamen
- Specialized knowledge and skills in one of eight areas of focus
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the integrated Bachelor of Laws program have a wide range of career opportunities available to them, including:
- Pursuing a Master's degree in law or a related field
- Entering the job market directly, with opportunities in fields such as human resources, compliance, and legal departments
- Pursuing further education and training in specialized areas, such as tax law or labor law
- Working in the public sector, including government agencies and administrative offices
