Program Overview
Master's Program in Psychology with a Focus on Forensic Psychology
The Master's program in Psychology with a focus on Forensic Psychology is a continuing education and part-time program.
Tuition Fees
Students enrolled in this program are required to pay a special tuition fee of 2,500 Euro per semester. This fee is in addition to the usual fees and contributions. The total amount for the standard period of study, which is four semesters, is 10,000 Euro. If the standard period of study is exceeded, no additional tuition fees will be charged.
Payment of Tuition Fees
The tuition fee must be paid:
- When applying for admission to the program and upon enrollment.
- When already enrolled in the program.
The fee is determined as part of the enrollment process and applies to the entire study period. For the first semester, the fee is due within the acceptance period as part of the admission process. For subsequent semesters, the deadlines for re-registration apply (§ 11 Abs. 2 Zulassungs- und Immatrikulationsordnung der Universität Konstanz (ZImmO) in the current version).
If a student is admitted to a higher semester, they will pay a reduced fee corresponding to the number of recognized semesters.
Exceptions to Tuition Fee Liability
- If a student is on leave of absence, no tuition fee is usually charged. Exception:
- Periods of leave due to maternity or parental leave, or due to care time (§ 61 Abs. 3 Landeshochschulgesetz in conjunction with § 12 Abs. 1 Nos. 6 and 7 ZImmO). In these cases, a reduced tuition fee may be charged retrospectively if the student attends courses and takes exams that relate to courses held during the leave of absence (§ 12 Abs. 4 Satz 8 ZImmO). The amount of the tuition fee is determined by the ratio of the academic and examination achievements to the regular academic and examination achievements (modules/ECTS per semester) specified in the applicable study and examination regulations. The fee is set by the responsible examination committee.
- The responsible examination committee can, upon application, waive the tuition fee in whole or in part for students who are prevented from starting or continuing their studies due to a serious and unavoidable reason. Under the same conditions, already paid tuition fees can be refunded. Fee exemptions are not granted. The following regulations apply independently of this.
Duration of Tuition Fee Payment
The tuition fee must be paid for the duration of the standard study period, which is four semesters. If the standard study period is exceeded, no additional tuition fees will be charged. If a student achieves their degree goal before the end of the standard study period, they will pay the remaining amount afterwards (§ 62 Abs. 5 Landeshochschulgesetz). If a student is admitted to a higher semester, they will pay a reduced total amount corresponding to the number of recognized semesters.
Refund of Tuition Fees
A paid tuition fee can be refunded in full if a student is exmatriculated before the start of the semester. In the case of later exmatriculation, the refund is only possible on a pro-rata basis. Important: This regulation does not apply to the semester in which the degree is awarded.
