Master of Education in Mathematik
The Master of Education in Mathematik is a postgraduate program designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in teaching mathematics at the gymnasial level. This program is offered by the University of Konstanz and is tailored to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective mathematics teachers.

International students will need to demonstrate proficiency in German, with a minimum level of DSH-2 or TestDaF 4.
Teaching and Examination Language
The primary language of instruction in the Master of Education in Mathematik program is German. However, with prior agreement, other languages may also be used.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Master of Education in Mathematik program, students must meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, education)
- A minimum of 64 ECTS in the subject-specific sciences of the two main subjects
- A minimum of 5 ECTS in the subject-specific didactics of the two main subjects
- A minimum of 12 ECTS in educational sciences
- A three-week orientation internship at a gymnasium, vocational school, or community school with an upper level
Deficiencies and Catch-up Options
Students may be admitted to the program with deficiencies of up to 50 ECTS, which must be made up during the course of the program. However, certain requirements, such as subject-specific didactics and the orientation internship, cannot be made up and must be fulfilled prior to admission.
Tuition Fees and Semester Contributions
Students in the Master of Education in Mathematik program are required to pay a semester contribution, which covers various costs, including student services and public transportation. International students from outside the EU/EEA may also be required to pay tuition fees, although certain exemptions apply.

Certain subjects, including biology, political science, and sports science, are subject to admission restrictions, and students must participate in a university selection process to be admitted to these subjects.
