First Year Experience (FYE) Programme
The University of KwaZulu-Natal has a long history of supporting First Time Entry Students (FTENs). The University has thus developed and implemented a comprehensive and responsive Orientation Programme which connects the FTENs to the UKZN community, and facilitates their understanding of the structures, systems, services, programmes, the teaching and learning environment, and student life. This comprehensive programme is the First-Year Experience (FYE) Programme. FYE mentors will be assigned to every FTEN student. These mentors will assist students through all aspects of their first year at UKZN. FTENs should expect to be contacted by FYE mentors upon receiving an offer from the College. The FYE programme also has a website with compulsory modules that must be completed in the first year of study.
