The College of Law and Management Studies offers a range of programs, including the Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.


Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting

Overview

The Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting program is intended for students who intend to qualify as chartered accountants in the future. The qualification is a pre-requisite for entry into the Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting qualification. The knowledge and skills graduates are expected to develop on the program are those that are expected of a practicing professional Accountant. These include the preparation of company financial statements, advising clients on the tax implications of their businesses, and preparing monthly management accounts for decision-making purposes. In doing so, they are expected to demonstrate proficiency in relevant technologies.


Duration

The program duration is 3 years.


Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for the program are:


  • National senior certificate degree with Mathematics level 5, English and Life Orientation level 4.
  • Minimum, 32 NSC points.
