MSc Programme in Retail and Digital Banking

The MSc programme in Retail and Digital Banking is a master's-level apprenticeship for senior banking professionals. The program is fully funded from the Apprenticeship Levy and is the UK's first master's-level apprenticeship for senior banking professionals.


Program Details

The program is a two-year part-time degree, and since its launch, 25 apprentices from Metro Bank have completed the first year. A fifth of those who signed up in 2018 have gone on to achieve promotions within the bank. The program has been opened up to apprentices from other banks, who will be learning alongside the 20 new apprentices from Metro Bank.


Program Impact

The program has had a significant impact on developing bankers and improving the practice of banking. Several participants from the first cohort have already achieved promotions, highlighting the importance that Metro Bank places in investing in its staff.
