Program Overview


Master's Degree in Audiovisual Interpretation / Screen Acting

The Master's Degree in Audiovisual Interpretation / Screen Acting is a professional and academic opportunity that offers specialized training in interpretation. The program aims to professionalize acting performance and its cinematographic and television context at an academic level.


Basic Information

The student will acquire knowledge from physical and respiratory awareness to the opening of the channel, applied to text work. The program provides paths of study and practical theoretical knowledge of vocal techniques and their evolution over the years.

The objectives of the program are:

  • CE01: Know the methodological tools of the field of Arts and Humanities for their integration in the structuring and composition of a research project
  • CE02: Master interpretive techniques and exercise them properly in situations of audiovisual interpretation
  • CE03: Create, train, and develop television characters from the script, documentation, and individual work
  • CE04: Develop the ability to adequately interpret the various characters, adapting to the conditions of a recording or voiceover
  • CE05: Identify and evaluate the ways for professional promotion and insertion through casting, photobook, videobook, as well as the search for an artistic agent and selection of opportunities
  • CE06: Analyze the feasibility of own entrepreneurial projects in the field of interpretation
  • CE07: Master the necessary tools to put into practice solutions to possible problems in the development of their functions as an actor
  • CE08: Master the identification of resources and relevant elements for the actor, explicit or implicit, in a dramatic text written for cinema or television
  • CE09: Develop flexibility, muscle, and specificity in the articulation of sound to handle the vocal needs of any text or scene
  • CE10: Apply analysis techniques from scenic praxis in the construction of characters according to international methodologies and schools
  • CE11: Demonstrate mastery of the interpretative tools necessary to participate in audiovisual creations with historical themes and non-current aesthetic environments
  • CE12: Carry out critical academic or professional evaluations of aesthetically avant-garde audiovisual proposals
  • CE13: Provide, from the stage direction, suggestions and relevant ideas for the development of recordings and performances
  • CE14: Formulate proposals for audiovisual marketing focused on the promotion of the actor
  • CE15: Prepare, present, defend an original work or project, synthesis of the skills and abilities acquired in the degree

Admission and Enrollment

The requirements for access to the proposed title are according to article 18 of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28. The specific qualifications that will facilitate access to the Master are degrees or double degrees in Visual Arts, Interpretation, Performing and Media Arts, or Higher Degrees in Dramatic Art, Music, and Dance taught by official Schools recognized by administrations and educational bodies.

External Internships

The External Practices subject is a curricular subject whose main objective is to promote a comprehensive training of the student through the practical application of the knowledge acquired during the Master's degree.


Mobility Programs

University Master's degrees, due to their duration and characteristics, in general do not specifically contemplate the mobility of their students. However, the Rey Juan Carlos University has different mobility programs for both students and University workers.

Once the monitoring of the Master's Degree has been carried out, the most relevant quantitative information on the results obtained in the monitoring of said Degree is displayed, differentiated by academic year.


General Information Collection Plan

Within the quality assurance system of the Rey Juan Carlos University, the following surveys are planned: student profile, teacher evaluation, degree of satisfaction, labor insertion, and external internships.

Renewal of Accreditation

The renewal of the accreditation represents the culmination of the implementation process of the official Bachelor's and Master's degrees registered in the Register of Universities, Centers and Degrees (RUCT).
