Program Overview

Introduction to the Master's Degree in Aerospace Design, Manufacturing, and Maintenance Engineering

The Master's Degree in Aerospace Design, Manufacturing, and Maintenance Engineering is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with extensive and rigorous training in the field of aerospace engineering. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and apply technology in aerospace design, manufacturing, and maintenance.

Objectives

The main objectives of the program are to provide theoretical and practical training in the different disciplines involved in the design, configuration, assembly, production, and maintenance of an aircraft. The program emphasizes configuration and assembly production processes, composite materials, and new technologies applicable in the factory of the future and advanced materials. Additionally, practical training is emphasized through an internship period in companies of recognized prestige in the aerospace sector.

Competences

The program aims to develop a set of general competencies in students, including:

  • Ability to search for specific information related to the different subjects of the master's degree from all available sources.
  • Ability to propose and develop reports.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents.
  • Ability to work in a team, in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Resource management: organization and ability to set priorities at work.
  • Flexibility to adapt during the development of a project, ability to rethink.
  • Critical reasoning: analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of different alternatives.
  • Ability for effective written and oral communication.
  • Information management: collection of information, organization, etc.
  • Responsibility and capacity for self-learning.

Programme

The program consists of several modules, including:

  • MODULE A: Design of Manned and Unmanned Aircraft
  • MODULE B: Aircraft Systems Engineering and Aeronautical Quality
  • MODULE C: Manufacturing Engineering in Composite and Metallic Materials
  • MODULE D: Process Engineering and Configuration
  • MODULE E: Assembly Production Engineering
  • MODULE F: New Technologies and Advanced Materials
  • MODULE G: Aeronautical Maintenance. Planes and Helicopters
  • MODULE H: Factory of the Future
  • MODULE I: Practices
  • MODULE J: Final Master's Project

Recipients

The program is designed for individuals with a degree in engineering, technical engineering, or a related field. Access requirements include a degree in engineering, technical engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the aeronautical sector for those without a university degree.

Selection Criteria

In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of places offered, a selection will be made based on the following criteria:

  • Degree: 30%
  • Academic record: 30%
  • Previous experience: 20%
  • Interview: 20%

Academic Management and Faculty

The program is directed by Luis Cadarso and Raul de Celis, with a team of coordinators and quality commission members from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and Airbus.

Quality Guarantee

The program has an internal quality assurance system, with a manual and a composition of the commission. The system includes surveys, indicators, and improvement actions to ensure the quality of the program.

Duration and Development

The program is face-to-face and face-to-face, with 60 ECTS credits, 600 contact hours, and a duration of one year. The program is delivered at the Hangar Laboratory VI of the Fuenlabrada Campus of the URJC, with virtual classes and Microsoft Teams.

Reservation of Place and Enrollment

The pre-registration period is from February 16 to September 30, 2026, with an enrollment deadline from February 20 to September 30, 2026. The title price is 9000, with a possibility of scholarship. A pre-registration fee of 500 is required, which is included in the total cost of the course.

Documentation to Attach, Forms, and Place of Delivery

Applicants must submit scanned documentation, including a national identity document, university degree, curriculum vitae, and responsible declaration of veracity of the data provided. The documentation must be submitted through the link provided by the university.

Improvement Actions

The Quality Assurance System of the Rey Juan Carlos University establishes that the degree's Quality Assurance Commission will annually analyze the information derived from the degree's indicators and prepare a report that will include improvement plans if the results so indicate.
