Program Overview


Summer Course: Stage Costume: Body, Gender and Spaces

The growing interest in Spanish productions on digital audiovisual platforms, the prominence of Madrid in the field of musical theatre, and the consolidation of casts dedicated to the performing arts have stimulated interest in the design and making of stage costumes. This summer course proposes to start from the advances in research in this field, as well as from direct contact with the professionalization paths in this sector, to open a space for dissemination and debate on the past and present of stage costume design and production.


Course Details

  • The course is organized by Professors Esther Yance (Area of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts) and Patricia Bonnin (FCEDEI).
  • The course will take place on July 1st at the Aranjuez Campus.
  • The topics addressed by the speakers will cover the different performing arts, as well as their implications in terms of gender, body, and space, offering a multifaceted and interdisciplinary vision.
  • The course aims to enrich the public through scientific and professional rigor.
