University Extension Course in European and Comparative Law
Presentation
The University Extension Course in European and Comparative Law is especially oriented to particular sectors in demand in the areas of legal practice, especially that of an international nature. This training program is the result of the academic collaboration of the Rey Juan Carlos University with the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.
Objectives
The University Extension Course in European and Comparative Law seeks to meet the training needs of undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and professional students, in accordance with a globalized scenario, which affects the need to make the student aware of the legal foundations, the foundations of fundamental sectors of European and continental law focused on international business.
Programme
The course consists of six modules:
- Module 1: International Investment Arbitration - This module will focus on the study of the legal instruments and procedures that govern disputes between investors and States at the European and continental level.
- Module 2: Corporate and Commercial Contracting Law - This module will address corporate structures and their legal status within the European Union in a comparative context.
- Module 3: Intellectual Property - In this module, the legal framework that protects creativity and innovation will be studied.
- Module 4: Introduction to European Union Law - This part of the training program will expand on the analysis of the legal framework of European Union law.
- Module 5: Data Protection and Artificial Intelligence - The connection between new technologies and legal frameworks that try to guarantee security and privacy in the European Union, Member States, and Spain will be studied.
- Module 6: The Practice of Law in the European and Ibero-American Scenario - The sessions in this module will be held at international law firms and the Spanish Senate.
