Program Overview

Introduction to the Microcredential in Active Teaching of Social Sciences in Primary Education

The proposed micro-credential addresses a real and growing training need among teachers, especially primary school teachers, who must teach the subject of Environmental Knowledge without having received in-depth specific training. This situation harms the students and contributes to the professional insecurity of the teachers, limiting the possibilities of developing critical thinking, historical awareness, and sensitivity towards the environment and culture.

Objectives

The objectives of this micro-credential are to:

  • Improve the educational foundations in History, Geography, and Art, with special attention to the content of the Primary Education stage.
  • Promote the use of active methodologies applied to the teaching of the humanities.
  • Increase critical thinking and intercultural awareness, promoting an inclusive education that respects diversity.
  • Design innovative teaching proposals that allow teachers to integrate technological content with the content of the subjects studied.

The programme consists of six modules:

  1. Fundamentals of History, Geography, and Art in Primary Education (3 ECTS) - CO1, CO4, C2
