Program Overview
The Expert in Safety Data Sheets program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for chemical substances and mixtures. The program is offered by the King Juan Carlos University and is targeted towards graduate students from various fields of knowledge, including biology, environmental sciences, medicine, pharmacy, chemistry, and environmental engineering.
Objectives
The program aims to equip students with the competences necessary to carry out an SDS of both substances and mixtures, updates, modifications based on current regulations, search for current regulations, SDS circuit, checks, exposure scenarios (realization and needs).
Competences
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Carry out an SDS of both substances and mixtures
- Update and modify SDS based on current regulations
- Search for current regulations
- Understand the SDS circuit and checks
- Develop exposure scenarios

- Topic 1: Format and content of safety data sheets (SDS)
- Topic 2: Check-list
- Topic 3: Exhibition scenarios
- Topic 4: FDS Circuit
- Topic 5: Practical case - Carrying out an SDS of a chemical substance
- TEAMS Session
- Final exam
Recipients
The program is targeted towards graduate or graduate students from fields of knowledge as diverse as biology, environmental sciences, medicine, pharmacy, chemistry, environmental engineering, geology, food science and technology, veterinary science, and those degrees in which this discipline has a place.

Academic Information
The program will be delivered through the King Juan Carlos University's virtual platform. Students will have access to a platform forum to communicate with teachers and ask questions. They will also be able to communicate via email with the teachers.
Duration and Development
The program will be delivered online, with a duration of 25 hours and 2.5 ECTS credits. The program will start on November 17th, 2025, and finish on November 26th, 2025.
Reservation of Place and Enrollment
Pre-registration will be open from June 16 to November 10, 2025, and registration will be open from November 10 to 16, 2025. The program has a maximum of 50 places, and the title price is 300 EUROS.

- National Identity Document or equivalent
- University Degree of the studies that give access to the requested postgraduate degree
- Curriculum vitae
- Responsible declaration of veracity of the data provided in digital format
- Any other document required by the Academic Department of Continuing Education for acceptance
