Program Overview
Microcredential in Data Analysis and Interactive Visualization: Creating Reports and Dashboards with Power BI
Presentation
The Microcredential in Interactive Data Analysis and Visualization: Creating Reports and Dashboards with Power BI is designed to provide specialized training in the use of Power BI, one of the most advanced tools for data analysis and presentation. This program allows students to develop skills in the creation of interactive reports and dynamic dashboards, optimizing the interpretation of information for different professional environments.
Objectives
- Develop data analysis skills: Learn to manage and transform large volumes of data from different sources for efficient and accurate analysis using Power BI.
- Master interactive reporting: Design and develop interactive reports and dashboards that enable end users to obtain clear and dynamic visual information, supporting data-driven decision making.
- Apply advanced Power BI functions: Introduce yourself to using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to perform advanced calculations and create custom visualizations that improve data analysis and presentation.
- Promote process automation in business intelligence: Automate repetitive tasks and report updates by integrating Power BI with other Microsoft services, optimizing business workflow.
- Foster teamwork skills: Implement and manage collaborative environments within Power BI, sharing reports and dashboards with different work groups in an organization, ensuring access to relevant information in real time.
- Contribute to sustainability and the SDGs: Use the knowledge acquired to promote data-driven decision-making in projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as resource efficiency and reducing environmental impact through data analysis.
Programme
The program consists of four modules:
- Power BI Fundamentals and Data Preparation: Introduction to the basic concepts and components of Power BI, connecting and importing data from various sources, transformation and preparation of data for analysis, and best practices in data cleansing and managing table relationships.
- Data Modeling and Creating Custom Metrics: Design and optimization of data models, creating relationships between tables to improve analysis, development of measures and calculated columns with DAX, and application of efficient models to solve business problems.
- Visualizing and Designing Interactive Reports: Selecting and customizing visualizations in Power BI, creation of interactive and dynamic dashboards, application of visual design techniques to improve data interpretation, and optimizing the user experience when exploring reports.
- Publishing, Automating and Updating Reports: Using Power BI Service for publishing and managing reports, setting up automatic data updates, permission management and access control to reports, and strategies to optimize efficiency in updating and maintaining reports.
