Introduction to the Master's Degree in Intelligence Analyst
The Master's Degree in Intelligence Analyst is a postgraduate program offered by the Chair of Intelligence Services and Democratic Systems, in collaboration with the Carlos III University of Madrid. This program has been recognized as the national benchmark for postgraduate training in Intelligence Analysis.
Objectives
The primary objective of the Master's Degree in Intelligence Analyst is to train professionals capable of working as analysts in intelligence production units, especially in the field of competitive and business intelligence. The program aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain, analyze, and disseminate information, reducing uncertainty in the decision-making process and positioning institutions and companies better against their competitors.
Competences
The program focuses on developing the following competences:
- Identifying and analyzing information needs linked to strategic objectives
- Obtaining, processing, and interpreting precious information resources
- Applying techniques, regulations, and auxiliary instruments necessary for strategic analysis production
- Managing information technologies for obtaining open information, preparing reports, and managing and protecting knowledge
- Planning, designing, and implementing intelligence units, preferably in economic and business intelligence
- Planning, designing, and carrying out projects to obtain and analyze strategic information within an intelligence organization

- Module I: Introduction. Fundamentals of Intelligence
- Module II: Management and planning
- Module III: Obtaining information
- Module IV: Intelligence analysis
- Module V: Dissemination and Communication
- Module VI: Competitive Intelligence
Recipients
The program is designed for university graduates and intelligence and security professionals, as well as members of State Security Forces and Bodies and the Armed Forces. Exceptionally, students without a prior university degree but with proven work experience in the field of intelligence and analysis may also be admitted.

Selection Criteria
In the event of exceeding the number of places offered, selection will be based on the following criteria:
- Academic background: 40%
- Professional experience: 40%
- Aptitudes: 20%
Number of Places
The program offers a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 places.
Quality Guarantee
The program is subject to an internal quality assurance system, which includes a manual and a composition of the commission responsible for ensuring quality.
Results Report
A results report is compiled after the follow-up of the Master's program, including quantitative information on the results obtained.
General Information Collection Plan
The quality assurance system includes surveys on student profiles, teacher evaluation, degree of satisfaction, labor insertion, and external internships.
Improvement Actions
The Quality Assurance Commission analyzes the information derived from the degree's indicators and prepares a report that includes improvement plans if necessary.
Duration and Development
The program is offered in-person, with 60 ECTS credits, and 430 contact hours. It takes place at the URJC Vic嫮varo Campus, from October 17, 2025, to December 19, 2026.
Reservation of Place and Enrollment
Pre-registration is open from June 1 to October 12, 2025, and enrollment deadline is from September 19 to October 12, 2025. The title price is 7,000, with a pre-registration fee of 500.
