Confocal Microscopy Course 2025

The Confocal Microscopy course at the University of York is a four-day intensive programme combining lectures on imaging theory and extensive hands-on training.

Description

Using samples ranging from plant tissue to live cells, participants gain experience in several advanced techniques, such as FRET, FRAP, and spectral imaging with linear unmixing. The course introduces both laser scanning and spinning disk confocal systems, including super-resolution imaging technology Airyscan 2. During the last session, participants are encouraged to analyse their own samples and discuss different strategies to optimise capturing speed and image quality.
