Introduction to the Doctor of Pharmacy Program
The Doctor of Pharmacy program is a comprehensive course of study that prepares students for a career in pharmacy. The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the sciences and to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to practice pharmacy in a variety of settings.
Program Structure
The program is divided into three cycles, each lasting from one to four years. The first cycle comprises the first three years of study and includes a diploma in general pharmaceutical sciences. The second cycle lasts two years and includes a diploma in specialized pharmaceutical sciences. The third cycle can last from one to four years and includes a thesis or research project.
First Cycle: MMOP-K and DFGSP
The first cycle includes three years of study:
- The first year is a selection year for entry into the MMOP-K program.
- The second and third years lead to a diploma in general pharmaceutical sciences (DFGSP). These two years of study include mandatory, optional, and elective courses, as well as a four-week internship at the end of the second year and a two-week internship during the third year.
Second Cycle: DFASP
The second cycle includes two years of study:
- The fourth year (certificat de synthčse pharmaceutique) allows students to choose a specialization in officinal, industrial-research, or internship pharmacy.
- The fifth year (hospitalo-universitaire) combines specialized courses with hospital internships.
Third Cycle
In the sixth year, students pursue a third cycle, which can last from one to four years:
