Program Overview


Introduction to the DIU Hypertension Artérielle, Risque Cardiovasculaire et Rénal Program

The DIU Hypertension Artérielle, Risque Cardiovasculaire et Rénal program is a university diploma offered under the aegis of the Société Française d'Hypertension Artérielle. This program aims to provide theoretical and practical training in the field of hypertension and associated pathologies, with the goal of improving the prevention and management of cardiovascular, renal, and neurological diseases.


Presentation of the Formation

The program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and evaluate cardiovascular and renal risks, understand the physiopathology of hypertension, and develop strategies for prevention and treatment. The curriculum includes topics such as physiopathology, epidemiology, risk evaluation, therapeutic strategies, and diagnostic techniques.


Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following prerequisites:


  • In initial training: Students in their third cycle (DES/DESC) of medical or pharmaceutical studies at the University of Toulouse or another French university, as well as chiefs of clinics and hospital assistants assigned to the CHU de Toulouse.
  • In continuing education: Doctors of medicine holding a French or European Union diploma, doctors of medicine holding a diploma outside the European Union and registered with the French Medical Council, doctors of pharmacy holding a French or European Union diploma, and nurses in advanced practice (DE) holding a French or European Union diploma.

Program Details

The program consists of 4 sessions of 1.5 days each, from November to May, totaling 6 days plus the JHTA, and 77 hours of instruction. The teaching team includes renowned experts in the field of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.

  • Analyze a therapeutic trial in the field of hypertension
  • Treat and monitor a patient with hypertension

Évaluation

The program includes continuous assessment, written exams, and oral exams.

Upon completion of the program, students will have acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the field of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, and will be able to pursue careers in research, clinical practice, or public health.

The cost of the program is as follows:


  • Registration fees for continuing education: 178 € (university registration fees) + 1000 € (program fees)
  • Registration fees for initial training: 300 € (university registration fees) + 34 € (if not already registered at the University of Toulouse) + 105 € (CVEC if not already paid)
