Program Overview
Introduction to the DIU Odontologie Pédiatrique Clinique et Sédation Program
The DIU Odontologie Pédiatrique Clinique et Sédation is a university diploma program offered by the University of Toulouse. This program is designed for dentists who wish to acquire a high level of competence in pediatric dentistry, particularly in complex cases.
Presentation of the Formation
The program aims to provide students with the necessary skills to manage complex pediatric dental cases, including young children, children with disabilities, developmental disorders, and rare diseases. Students will receive practical training in general anesthesia, sedation, interception, and the use of digital tools.
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following prerequisites:
- In initial training: students in the 3rd cycle of dental surgery (long or short cycle), foreign students enrolled in DFMS/DFMSA, and chiefs of clinic and AHU of Toulouse.
- In continuing education: doctors in dental surgery holding a French or European Union diploma or a diploma outside the European Union.
Candidature
The application process involves submitting a application form, with a deadline of September 11, 2025. Selected candidates will be invited for an interview on September 18, 2025. The program starts in November 2025.

Stage and Séjour
The program includes a 40-day internship. There is no foreign stay required.

- Attendance
- Final written exam
- Final oral exam

- Validation of internship
After the Program
Upon completion of the program, students will acquire the following competencies:
- Competence in complex pediatric dental care
- Practical skills in general anesthesia, sedation, interception, and use of digital tools
Inscriptions
The cost of the program is as follows:
- Registration fee for continuing education: 178 + course fees 1900
- Registration fee for initial training: 300 (+ 34 if not already enrolled at the UT + 105 CVEC if not already paid)
Modalities of Inscription
The registration process involves the following steps:
- Pre-requisites: students must have submitted an application that has received a favorable opinion from the teacher responsible for the training
- After validation of the administrative registration, students will be contacted by email by the MFCA manager to complete the administrative registration procedures (quote, contract or agreement, payment of training fees and university registration fees)
- Students must be administratively registered before the start of the courses.
