Program Overview
Introduction to the DIU Psychopathologie Lťgale Program
The DIU Psychopathologie Lťgale program is a comprehensive course of study focused on the clinical and legal foundations of legal psychopathology. This program is designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of the interfaces between health and justice, as well as the fundamentals of criminology and victimology.
Presentation of the Formation
The DIU Psychopathologie Lťgale is structured into two levels:
- A first year, referred to as the "socle," which aims to share the fundamentals of legal psychiatry with anyone who may work in a professional field potentially concerned with these issues. This includes general psychiatry, general medicine, and other medical specialties, justice, socio-educational fields, etc.
- A second year of specialization for those who wish to specifically engage in this field, including expertise, psychiatry in the penitentiary environment, care for authors of sexual violence, criminology, and victimology.
Knowledge Acquired
Participants will acquire clinical, regulatory, and legal references for psychiatric devices articulated with justice. This includes knowledge of health/justice interfaces and the bases of criminological and victimological reflection.
Location of Teachings
The teachings will take place in Toulouse, at 133 Route de Narbonne, with specific locations to be confirmed with the pedagogical secretariat. The program is also associated with the Facultť de Santť de Toulouse and the Facultť de NÓmes-Montpellier.
Duration of the Formation
The program lasts for 1 year, with 5 sessions of 2 days each, totaling 10 days from November to June, and comprising 72 hours of instruction.

Pre-requisites
Required Formations
For those in initial training:
- Students in the 3rd cycle of medicine enrolled in psychiatry, legal medicine, general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, geriatrics, addictology, occupational medicine.
- Foreign nationality students enrolled in DFMS/DFMSA in psychiatry or legal medicine.
- Chiefs of Clinic and AHU of Toulouse.
- Students graduated with a Master's 1 in Human and Social Sciences, if still enrolled in a university initial training course.
- Students in the course of a Master's 2 in Human and Social Sciences, if still enrolled in a university initial training course.
- Students graduated with a Master's 2 in Human and Social Sciences, if still enrolled in a university initial training course.
- Chiefs of clinic and AHU of Toulouse.
For those in continuing education:
- Doctor of medicine holding a French or European Union diploma.
- Doctor of medicine holding a diploma outside the European Union, registered with the Council of the Order in France.
- Nurse (DE), social assistance (DEASS), specialized educator (DE), psychologist, psychomotor therapist (DE): holders of a French or European Union diploma.
- Jurist, lawyer, CPIP, other actors in the health-justice system: holders of a French or European Union diploma.

- University registration fees: 300 (+ 34 if no other registration is in progress at UT + 105 of CVEC if not already acquired)
Modalities of Inscription
Inscription in Continuing Education
- Pre-requisites: You have deposited a candidacy application that has received a favorable opinion from the teacher responsible for the formation.
- After validation by the SUDPC2S, you will be contacted by email by your MFCA manager for the administrative registration procedures to be carried out (estimate, contract or convention, payment of formation fees and university registration fees).
- You must be imperatively registered administratively before the start of the teachings.
Inscription in Initial Training
- Pre-requisites: You have deposited a candidacy application that has received a favorable opinion from the teacher responsible for the formation.
- After validation of your pedagogical registration authorization, you will be contacted by email by your SUDPC2S manager for the administrative registration procedures to be carried out (registration file, payment of university registration fees).
- You must be imperatively registered administratively before the start of the teachings.
