Program Overview
DU Education Thérapeutique
The DU Education Thérapeutique is a university diploma program aimed at developing competencies dedicated to the conception, animation, coordination, and/or evaluation of therapeutic education programs. This program is designed for healthcare professionals, as well as other types of professionals and users involved or wishing to be involved in therapeutic education actions.
Presentation of the Formation
The objective of this formation is to develop competencies in therapeutic education. It comprises 5 theoretical seminars of 2 days each (for a total of 80 hours) and an observation stage of 5 days (40 hours). The program addresses the theoretical and regulatory aspects of therapeutic education and their application in a practical context.
Admission
Pre-requisites
- Formation(s) Required: The program is open to various professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, as well as users with a diploma of level 4 involved in improving care.
- Candidature: Candidates must submit a dossier including a curriculum vitae, a letter of motivation, and copies of relevant diplomas. The selection is based on the examination of this dossier by a coordination committee.

- Understanding therapeutic education: definition and objectives
- Pedagogical approach
- Centering therapeutic education on the patient
- The patient's educational pathway
- Implementing therapeutic education programs and evaluation

The pedagogical team is composed of experienced professionals in the field of therapeutic education, including:

- HANAIRE Hélčne, médecin PU-PH
- And other specialists in their respective fields.
Stage(s)
A 5-day stage (40 hours) is part of the program, aiming to provide practical experience in therapeutic education.
Evaluation
The evaluation includes:
- Attendance
- Final written exam
- Submission of a written thesis at the end of the DU
- Defense of the thesis
- Writing a stage report
After the Program
Competences
Upon completion, participants will master the theoretical and regulatory aspects of therapeutic education, know how to identify the objectives of a therapeutic education action or program, conceive and apply a diagnostic educational process, use methodological, pedagogical, and technical tools for therapeutic education actions, and evaluate such actions.

Cost of the Formation
- Tarif des inscriptions en formation continue: University registration fees of 178 + formation fees of 1050 . A tariff reduction may be considered based on the applicant's status.
Modalities of Inscription
- Pre-requisites: The applicant must have deposited a candidacy request that has received a favorable opinion from the teacher responsible for the formation.
- After validation by the SUDPC2S, the applicant will be contacted by email by their MFCA manager, who will indicate the administrative registration procedures to be carried out (estimate, contract or convention, payment of formation fees and university registration fees).
- The applicant must be administratively registered before the start of the teachings.
