Master Mention Biotechnologies

The Master Mention Biotechnologies aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the scientific and technical fundamentals in the field of biochemistry, biotechnology, and microbiology.


Presentation of the Formation

This master's program is designed to form cadres who can integrate into research or research and development departments, both in the public and private sectors. It also prepares students for a doctorate leading to recruitment as a researcher, teacher-researcher, or engineer in the public or private sector.

Competences

Upon completion of the program, students will acquire the following competences:


  • Represent the structure of biomolecules to deduce their physico-chemical and biological properties
  • Use and adapt experimental protocols for the separation, purification, and structural and functional analysis of biomolecules
  • Recognize and analyze the main metabolic pathways and their interconnections
  • Utilize and adapt technologies of gene cloning, expression quantification, mutagenesis, and protein-DNA and protein-protein interaction detection
  • Synthesize the state of the art in a domain of the specialty using the main sources of information while exercising critical thinking
  • Design and implement an experimental strategy to answer a research question or test a scientific hypothesis
  • Interpret and model experimental results using mathematical, statistical, and/or computer tools
  • Write and present a scientific project or report in French and English, respecting an imposed format, using common office software
  • Develop and lead a research or development project in biotechnology within a team
