Program Overview
AEU Domaine Médico-Chirurgical
The AEU Domaine Médico-Chirurgical is a university program offered by the Université de Toulouse. This program aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge in the fields of implantology, parodontology, oral surgery, and occlusodontology.
Presentation of the Formation
This diploma program is designed to transmit the basic fundamentals in the odontological fields of implantology, parodontology, oral surgery, and occlusodontology. The program enables students to acquire high-level scientific knowledge, preparing them for inscription in the Diplôme Universitaire (DU) of implantology, parodontology, and potentially occlusodontology.
Admission
To be eligible for this program, students must meet specific prerequisites:
- In initial training: Students in the 3rd cycle of Dental Surgery (long cycle) specialized in bucco-dental medicine, oral surgery, or dento-facial orthopedics. Students in the 3rd cycle of Medicine specialized in ORL or maxillo-facial surgery. Chiefs of clinic and AHU of Toulouse.
- In continuing education: Doctors in Dental Surgery holding a French or European Union diploma and registered with the Order Council in France. Doctors in Medicine specialized in Maxillo-Facial Surgery or ORL holding a French or European Union diploma and registered with the Order Council in France.
Program
The program is divided into three modules:
- Implantology: Covers topics such as osteo-integration, treatment of the anterior sector, immediate loading, implantology and bone grafts, therapeutic gradient, and planning.
- Oral Surgery: Includes prescription medication, major surgical principles, oral surgery in general practice, alveolar reconstruction in oral surgery, management of oral complications in oral surgery, and maxillary reconstruction.
- Parodontology and Occlusodontology: Histology and physiology of the periodontium and bone tissue, treatments of periodontal disease, buccal dermatology, periodontal maintenance, initiation to chronic orofacial pain, electromyography, and transcutaneous electrical neurostimulation.

Modalities
The program uses both digital and participative pedagogy:
- Digital Pedagogy: Distance courses, video capsules, and complementary pedagogical supports.
- Participative Pedagogy: Organized workshops allowing students to understand, observe, and master clinical bases in implantology, parodontology, and occlusodontology.
Evaluation
The evaluation is based on a final written exam.
After the Program
Upon completion, students acquire competencies to:
- Pose precise diagnoses in implantology, parodontology, oral surgery, and occlusodontology.
- Master therapeutic protocols in these domains.
- Acquire high-level scientific knowledge for potential inscription in specialized Diplôme Universitaire programs.
Inscriptions
