Pedagogical Methods and Means Used
The pedagogical methods aim at acquiring practical professional expertise. During theoretical teachings, a large place is given to clinical presentations and exchanges with participants. Theoretical teachings consist of three parts: essential theoretical-clinical information, illustration by one or several clinical situations, and open discussion with participants during workshops. During each course, one of the DU coordinators is present and plays the role of discussant and animator of the session, also making the link between the different sessions. Courses and targeted bibliographic references are accessible on a dedicated internet site, updated by teachers and the coordinator. This site allows for interactive exchange between students and teachers. The practical part is one of the strengths of the training, with a deep involvement of trainees in patient care. They also participate in multidisciplinary discussions of complex case files and vascular exploration consultations. Clinical cases are carried out in e-learning and face-to-face.
