Program Overview
Introduction to the University Program
The University of Toulouse offers a comprehensive program in Echographie Gynécologique et Obstétricale, providing students with in-depth knowledge and practical skills in the field of gynecological and obstetric ultrasound.
Presentation of the Formation
The objective of this program is to acquire advanced knowledge in the domain of clinical echography, with a focus on gynecology and obstetrics. The program aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of echography, including its indications, results, and comparison with other diagnostic methods.
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for this program, students must meet the following prerequisites:
- In Formation Initiale: Students must be in their third cycle of medicine, enrolled in a DES beyond the second year of formation in Gynecology-Obstetrics, Gynecological Medicine, Radiodiagnosis, and Medical Imaging, and currently studying at the University of Toulouse or another French university.
- In Formation Continue: Students must be doctors with a French or European Union diploma, specialized in Gynecology-Obstetrics, Radiology, Gynecological Medicine, or General Medicine.
Program Details
The program consists of:
- Bases fondamentales: Production and propagation of ultrasonics, sondes and beams, Doppler principle, attenuation and tissue characterization, signal formation, and perspectives on 3D echo and contrast products.
- Obstétrique: First trimester of pregnancy, embryofetal development, biométrie de datation, biométrie de trophicité, and pathologies of the fetus and placenta.
- Gynécologie: Normal and pathological pelvis, bladder and ureter, general abdominal echography, liver, kidneys, and the role of scanner and MRI in gynecology.

Et aprčs ?
After completing the program, students will have acquired the skills to master clinical echography and its various exercise modalities, as well as identify indications and results of echography compared to other diagnostic methods.
Inscriptions
The cost of the program is:
- For formation continue: 178 university registration fees + 1000 training fees
- For formation initiale: 300 university registration fees (+ 34 if not already enrolled at the University of Toulouse + 105 CVEC if not already acquired)
The registration process involves:
- Depositing a candidacy application that receives a favorable opinion from the teacher responsible for the formation.
- After validation, the student will be contacted by email by the MFCA manager to complete the administrative registration procedures (quote, contract or convention, payment of training fees and university registration fees).
- The student must be administratively registered before the start of the teachings.
