DU Stérilisation en Milieu Hospitalier

The DU Stérilisation en Milieu Hospitalier is a university diploma program offered by the Université de Toulouse. This program aims to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to work in the field of sterilization in hospitals.


Presentation of the Formation

Admission

To be eligible for this program, students must meet certain prerequisites. For students in initial training, these prerequisites include:


  • Being a 3rd cycle student (DES/DESC) in pharmaceutical studies at the UT or in a French university
  • Being a 3rd cycle student (DES/DESC) in medical studies at the UT or in a French university
  • Being a 3rd cycle student (DES/DESC) in dental surgery, long cycle at the UT or in a French university
  • Being a 3rd cycle student (DES/DESC) in dental surgery, short cycle at the UT or in a French university
  • Being a chief of clinic or AHU assigned to the CHU of Toulouse
  • Having the status of FFI assigned in a CHU in France

For students in continuing education, the prerequisites include:


  • Being a doctor of pharmacy holding a French, European Union, or non-European Union diploma
  • Being a doctor of medicine holding a French, European Union, or non-European Union diploma
  • Being a doctor of dental surgery holding a French, European Union, or non-European Union diploma
  • Being a midwife DE, nurse DE, anesthesiologist nurse DE, operating room nurse DE, advanced practice nurse DE, pediatric nurse DE, radiology technician DE, pharmacy technician: holding a French, European Union, or non-European Union diploma
  • Being a health executive, laboratory technician, candidate holding a license or master's degree, and having professional experience in the field

Candidature

To apply for this program, students must submit the following documents by email:


  • A letter of motivation/professional project + CV + copy(ies) of diploma(s) allowing access to the requested diploma or justification of professional experience in the field
  • The calendar for submitting applications is from April 15th to October 31st

  • Hygiene and environment
  • Pre-disinfection operations - washing
  • Packaging and reconstitution and storage
  • Routine control, release, validation
  • Management and management of a sterilization unit

Stage(s)

The program includes a 5-day, 35-hour stage, which is mandatory for participants without experience in sterilization.

The evaluation is based on:


  • A final written exam
  • A final oral exam
  • Submission of a final thesis

After the Program

After completing the program, students will have acquired the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the field of sterilization in hospitals. They will be able to implement quality control measures, manage sterilization units, and improve the quality of sterilization processes.


Inscriptions

The cost of the program is:


  • For continuing education: registration fees 178 + training fees 2400
  • For initial training: registration fees 300 (+ 34 if not already registered at UT3 and 105 CVEC if not already paid)

Modalities of Registration

To register, students must follow these steps:


  1. Pre-requisites: Students must have submitted a application that has received a favorable opinion from the teacher responsible for the training
  2. After validation by the SUDPC2S, students will be contacted by email by their MFCA manager to complete the administrative registration procedures (quote, contract or agreement, payment of training fees and university registration fees)
  3. Students must imperatively be registered administratively before the start of the teachings
