The Skandinavistika (Suomi) program at Vilniaus Universitetas is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the languages, literature, culture, history, and society of the Nordic region. Program Plan

The program plan includes a range of courses that provide students with a broad understanding of the Nordic region, including its languages, literature, culture, history, and society. Admission Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • For students who completed secondary education in 2026:
      • Pass at least 3 state exams
      • Results of the exams must be at least at the basic level of achievement
    • For students who completed secondary education before 2026, check the requirements according to their year of completion
  • Competition Score:
    • Lithuanian Language and Literature: exam, coefficient 0.4
    • History or Geography or Mathematics or Informatics or Foreign Language: exam or annual grade (A level), coefficient 0.2
    • Any subject not matching the above: exam or annual grade (A level), coefficient 0.2
    • Foreign Language: exam or annual grade (A level), coefficient 0.2
  • Additional Points:
    • Can be added to the competition score for achievements demonstrating activity, knowledge, and initiative
    • Up to 2.5 additional points can be added for students applying for state-funded, state-funded with a scholarship, or non-state-funded places

Application Procedure

  1. Choose a Study Program: Get acquainted with all the offered bachelor's and integrated study programs and their requirements. Evaluate your interests, strengths, and professional ambitions.
  2. Check for Additional Requirements: For most applicants, it is enough to know which subjects make up the competitive score and to meet the minimum requirements. However, in some cases, additional requirements may apply, such as recognition of a diploma and/or conversion of grades.
  3. Submit an Application through LAMA BPO: During the general admission period, applications are submitted through the LAMA BPO system.
  4. Wait for an Invitation to Study and Sign a Contract: After receiving an invitation to study, pay the registration fee and sign the study contract within the specified deadline.

  • Understand the languages, literature, culture, history, and society of the Nordic region
  • Analyze the context and problems of Nordic culture, literature, history, and society, as well as language and cultural phenomena
  • Acquire intercultural competence, critical thinking, teamwork, and individual work skills
  • Identify and raise scientific problems in the studied field, conduct simple scientific research, and critically evaluate and properly present the results

  • Annual Tuition Fee for Non-State-Funded Places: 4,108 EUR
  • Scholarships: Available for students with good academic results, active scientific, sports, or social activities, and for those in difficult life situations
