Program Overview

The Dance-Movement Therapy program aims to prepare highly qualified therapists who can apply dance and body therapy in the context of health, social care, education, or rehabilitation. The program combines theoretical knowledge from psychology, neurology, mental health, and dance therapy with practical exercises, including dance therapy sessions, reflection groups, practice, and specialized modules.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Dance-Movement Therapy specialization, applicants must have completed health, psychology, or related study programs, or bachelor's studies in dance, dance pedagogy, or art therapy. Applicants must submit a personal competency portfolio, considering the completed study field.


Study Results

Graduates of the program will be able to:


  • Professionally apply dance-movement therapy methods with various client groups in health, social care, education, or rehabilitation settings.
  • Evaluate a person's emotional, psychological, and physical condition, determine the need for therapy, and monitor changes during the therapy process.
  • Acquire deep knowledge of psychology, movement, body theories, and clinical practices, enabling work in multidisciplinary teams, organization of the therapy process, planning of activities, and responsible leadership of individual or group sessions.
  • Be prepared to conduct research, analyze data, and create new therapeutic methodologies.
  • Contribute professionally to improving clients' health and strengthening their psychological well-being.

Scholarships

Vilnius University students can apply for scholarships for excellent academic achievements, active research, sports, or social activities, as well as social support for students in difficult life situations.


State-Supported Loans

Students can use state-supported loans, which are provided according to the procedure established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. These loans are intended to help finance studies and living expenses during the study period.
