Program Overview
The Fotonas program is a supplementary education school for students in grades VII-XII, lasting six years. The program aims to deepen students' knowledge of physics through interesting tasks and experimental trials.
Admission Criteria
To be admitted to the program, students must correctly complete the majority of the provided admission tasks and submit their answers. Students who complete the tasks will be accepted into the first year of the Fotonas school. The admission process involves:
- Completing a series of tasks, which can be done independently or with the help of a teacher or friends
- Submitting the completed tasks for review
- Receiving feedback and comments on the submitted work
Program Structure
The program consists of three task cycles per academic year, which include:
- Verbal tasks
- Calculation tasks
- Experimental tasks Students are expected to complete these tasks over the course of six years, with a total of 340 tasks.
Tuition Fees
The annual tuition fee for the Fotonas program is:
- 100.00 Eur per person for new contracts starting in 2024
- 30.00 Eur per person for students from socially vulnerable families
Program Details
The program starts in October, and classes are conducted electronically. Students will receive tasks to complete within specified deadlines and will submit their work for review. The Fotonas school staff will review the submitted work and provide feedback and comments to the students. The program aims to enhance students' knowledge of physics through everyday observations, experiments, and tasks that can be completed at home or in the classroom.
Participation Requirements
To participate in the program, students must:
- Complete at least half of the provided admission tasks
- Demonstrate the willingness and commitment to complete the program over six years
- Sign a learning participant agreement upon admission to the program
