Program Overview

Introduction to the International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) Program

The International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) program at National Tsing Hua University was initiated in 2003 through a strategic alliance between the university and the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF). This collaboration aimed to organize master's degree programs in high-tech management, with the TaiwanICDF providing scholarships for international students.

History and Development of the IMBA Program

The program started under the Institute of Technology Management and was officially approved by the Ministry of Education as a professional degree program in 2006. This approval enabled the IMBA program to recruit both domestic and international students starting from the fall of 2007. The program is designed to train students in a multi-cultural environment, preparing them for the challenges of a globalized world.

Faculty and Education

The IMBA program has recruited excellent faculties and invited international scholars as guest lecturers to provide students with a better learning environment. Since 2016, the College of Technology Management has become more international, with a growing number of foreign teachers and students. The college offers approximately 80 English-taught courses, in addition to the IMBA program's 100% English-taught courses, providing international students with more options.

Integration of Education and Industry

The IMBA program interacts with the industry and corporations, inviting well-known corporation leaders for speeches and workshops. This interaction builds a bridge of cooperation between the program and the industry, sharing practical experiences and nurturing outstanding talents. Approximately 30% of IMBA graduates acquire internship opportunities through these exchanges, and scholarships are established to encourage students to work in Taiwan after graduating.

Future Opportunities

After graduating, IMBA students have the option to pursue a doctoral degree at National Tsing Hua University. The university has the top faculty and rich resources, making it an ideal place for further study. The International Intercollegiate Ph.D. Program (iPhD) was established in 2015 to nurture interdisciplinary talents, combining faculties from different departments and teaming up with top universities around the globe. Another option for the future is the PhD program at the Institute of Service Science (ISS), which aims to cultivate high-level researchers in service phenomena and develop the service science discipline.
