Program Overview
The university program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in Chinese language and literature. The program is divided into two groups: High-Level Chinese Language and Literature, and International Sinology.
Program Requirements
- Students must complete 24 credits to graduate, including required courses and a thesis.
- The required courses for the High-Level Chinese Language and Literature group include:
- "Ancient Classic Selected Texts Bilateral Discussion"
- "High-Level Reading and Writing"
- "Chinese Linguistics"
- "Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language"
- The required courses for the International Sinology group include:
- "Ancient Classic Selected Texts Bilateral Discussion"
- "Ancient Classic Selected Texts Reading"
- "High-Level Reading and Writing"
- "Oral Practice 1-4"
- "Current Events Reporting and Commentary"
- "Independent Research"
- Students must also complete an internship and a thesis.
Internship Regulations
- High-Level Chinese Language and Literature group: Students must complete at least 100 hours of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
- International Sinology group: Students must complete at least 100 hours of internship in a professional field related to Chinese language and literature.
Thesis Requirements
- Students must submit a thesis proposal and pass an oral defense.
- The thesis must be written in Chinese or English, and must include at least 10 pages of Chinese content if written in English.
- The oral defense will be conducted in Chinese.
Language Proficiency Requirements
- High-Level Chinese Language and Literature group: Students must pass the "Chinese Language Proficiency Test" before graduation.
- International Sinology group: Non-native Chinese speakers must possess a Chinese language proficiency equivalent to CEFR C1 or above before graduation.
Academic Regulations
- Students must complete all required courses and credits within the specified timeframe.
- Students who fail to meet the graduation requirements will be required to withdraw from the program.
Degree Conferral
- Students who complete all required courses and credits, and pass the thesis defense, will be awarded a master's degree.
- The program follows the university's academic regulations and guidelines.
