Introduction to the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies

The Department of Child & Adolescent Development (CAD) offers a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies with a concentration in Care and Education. This program prepares students to be competent professionals in their work as advocates for children, youth, and families. Using a social justice lens, CAD values teaching and experiential learning that incorporates diversity of background and experiences, current and relevant research, and high-quality instruction. The program supports and engages students as they gain knowledge about children, youth, and their families from a developmental, interdisciplinary, and applied perspective, and prepares them to serve in school and community settings.
