Semester @ SFSU Program

The Semester @ SFSU program provides international students with the opportunity to take one or two semesters of academic courses at San Francisco State University. Students can choose from a wide variety of classes in over 100 different disciplines on a space-available basis.

Overview

Semester @ SFSU will allow students to:

• Enroll in 12 units (undergraduate) or 9 units (graduate) of SFSU academic courses per semester
• Study at SFSU campus along with SFSU students for one or two semesters
• Receive an official SFSU transcript showing earned course units
• Course units and grades may transfer back to their home institution
• Enroll free of charge in A U 110: Living in San Francisco to learn more about and experience the City of San Francisco

Housing

Both campus housing and off-campus housing will be available to Semester @ SFSU students upon request.

Partner Information

Students from partner universities will attend the Semester @ SFSU program in person as J-1 exchange visitors. All J-1 students are expected to contribute to the internationalization of SFSU through campus and community engagement.

  • $7,020 (12 units undergraduate / graduate non-business)
  • $5,265 (9 units graduate non-business)
  • $7,749 (9 units graduate business)
  • $449 per unit (online)
• Length: 1 - 2 Semesters
• When to Start: Fall, Winter (Winter Session Online), Spring
