Throughout the academic year, workshops, events, and career advising and planning are offered to all students in Communication Studies.


COMM 695: Internship in Communication Studies

Course Description

Prerequisites: Restricted to upper-division Communication Studies majors; COMM GWAR or equivalent. Students participate in a 120-hour internship at a University-approved organization that integrates Communication Studies theories, scholarship, and ethics with practical work experience. Additional focus includes career development and applying for employment. May be repeated for a total of eight units with four units counted toward major elective requirements.

COMM 695 falls under the Major Elective Breadth Area and is worth four units. The class meets three times over the semester. More details will also be provided regarding the required paperwork for the class. COMM 695 is typically offered in fall, spring, and summer.
