The Bachelor of Science in Physics offers a Concentration in Physics for Teaching, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of physics and its applications in teaching.

Program Requirements

To pursue this concentration, students must meet the following prerequisites:

• PHYS 230 and PHYS 240 with grades of C or better
• ASTR 300 with a grade of C- or better (may be taken concurrently)

Course Description

The program includes the study of extra-solar planets, covering topics such as:

• History of extra-solar planet discovery
• Detection methods
• Planet formation
• Exoplanetary atmospheres The curriculum also explores the statistics of exoplanetary systems, habitability, and the context of the Solar System within the larger universe.
