Introduction to the SF State Scholars Program

The SF State Scholars program in Chemistry & Biochemistry offers talented students a unique opportunity to transition seamlessly from undergraduate to graduate study within a blended BS and MS program.

Program Overview

Highly motivated BS Chemistry and Biochemistry majors can complete the BS and MS programs in as few as five years. The program requires intensive research training through an independent research project, which adds depth of knowledge and valuable skills in the student's area of expertise.

Program Benefits

Students who successfully complete the program have an advantage in terms of employment and acceptance into competitive PhD programs.

Available Program Paths

• B.S. in Chemistry + M.S. in Chemistry
  • This path allows students to earn both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemistry.
• B.S. in Biochemistry + M.S. in Chemistry: Concentration in Biochemistry
  • This path enables students to specialize in Biochemistry while earning their graduate degree in Chemistry.
