Course Description
The course "Anatomy of the Movement Apparatus" (BEV1014) covers anatomy at both macro and micro levels, focusing on the skeleton, joints, and muscles. The approach is motion device support and motion function, with an introduction to anthropometry. The exercises and group work contain practical activities, demonstrations, and exercises in anatomy focusing on movement analysis.

- The student has basic knowledge of the human anatomy, function, and adaptation, with particular focus on the movement apparatus (macro and micro level)
- The student has good knowledge about muscle function and involved muscles in body movements
- The student has basic knowledge of muscular strength and joint torque
- The student has basic knowledge about the respiratory- and cardiovascular system

- The student has considerable insight into the structure and function of the movement apparatus
- The student has insight into qualitative anatomical analyses
- The student can disseminate knowledge about the structure and function of the movement apparatus (both written and oral)
Learning Methods and Activities
The course has lectures throughout the whole semester, with up to 96 hours of lectures/exercises/group work/lab work.

Compulsory Activities
- Participation in at least 4 of 5 practical lab sessions
- 3 of 4 approved written assignments of group work
- 3 of 4 approved participation at presentation of group work/team-based learning
Exam
- Written 4 hours written school exam
- The exam is split into a part with multiple choice questions and one part with questions with open answer
- No aids are allowed at the exam

Admission to a programme of study is required:
- Human Movement Science (BBEV)
- Human Movement Science (ĹBEV)
Recommended Previous Knowledge
BEV1011 and other BEV courses from the first semester.
Required Previous Knowledge
The course is reserved for students admitted to the bachelor's programme and one-year programme in Human Movement Science.
