Course Overview
The BioMarine Value Creation course is a foundation course, level I, that provides an introduction to the biomarine industry. The course covers the exploitation of marine resources, processing and production of seafood and marine ingredients, and the presentation of value chains including fishery, harvesting, and aquaculture.

Learning Methods and Activities
The total work load for the course is expected to be 200 hours, including:
- Lectures (36 hours)
- Guest lectures from industry (4-6 hours)
- Excursions to different companies (4 excursions of 4 hours each)
- Individual reports
- Group work with written report and oral presentation
- Self-study (120 hours)
Compulsory Assignments
The compulsory assignments for the course include:
- Reports
- Group assignment with a short report and oral presentation
- Reports from each excursion
- Participation in 80% of guest lectures and at least 3 of 4 excursions
Evaluation
The evaluation for the course includes:
- Oral examination
