Course Overview

Course Description

The course "Experts in Teamwork - Punctual and Efficient Railway" (TBA4853) is a 7.5-credit course offered at the second-degree level. It is normally compulsory in all programs of study at the master's level at NTNU.


Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes of this course include:


  • Students gaining knowledge about group processes and being familiar with key concepts and prerequisites for good teamwork.
  • Students being able to apply their academic learning in cooperation with people from other subject areas and jointly define problems and find solutions.
  • Students being able to reflect on their teamwork and analyze the way the group communicates, plans, decides, accomplishes tasks, handles disagreements, and relates to professional, social, and personal challenges.

Learning Methods and Activities

The learning methods in this course are experience-based, with a focus on teamwork and reflection. The course includes both teacher- and student-directed activities, such as:


  • Introduction to the village theme and drawing up a cooperation agreement
  • Project work and facilitation
  • Reflection activities, including writing down reflections and exercises in teamwork
  • Oral presentation of the project and a dialogue about the teamwork

Compulsory Activities

Evaluation

The final reports, consisting of a project report and a process report, are assessed according to the grading scale A-F. The team receives one common grade, with the project report and the process report each worth 50% of the final grade.


Required Previous Knowledge

Students must be qualified for admission to a master's program and be able to speak the language of instruction (Norwegian or English).
