Learning Outcome

After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Recognize the function of biomolecules
• Know about biotechnological processes applied in industrial and research contexts
• Explain how biological processes and molecules render biotechnology possible
• Execute simple laboratory experiments demonstrating principles of microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, and bioinformatics
• Apply knowledge to solve scientific or practical tasks
• Assess biotechnological solutions in light of ethical problems and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals
• Identify, retrieve, and interpret information from scientific sources independently
• Discuss and convey biotechnological topics in their own words
