  • Credits: 7.5
  • Level: Intermediate course, level II
  • Language of instruction: Norwegian
  • Location: Gj黲ik
  • Examination arrangement: School exam

About the Course

Course Content

  • Calibration of total station
  • Land surveying methods (traverse, construction, and building measurements)
  • Surveying data processing (orthogonal method, traverse, corrections between terrain and map plans)
  • Theory of accuracy/statistics (least-squares method, weighting/instrument parameters, time-correlation in RTK(GNSS)
  • Software (general use, data import and export, processing, assessment of quality regarding Norwegian standards)
  • Applications (road sticking, transformation, calibration)
  • Programming

Learning Outcome

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of standards in the land surveying field
  • Understanding of the surveyor's tasks on construction and building sites
  • Ability to verify correction of measured distances and directions
  • Ability to verify correction of measured distances and directions between terrain and map plane
  • Understanding of the least-squares method
  • Ability to use statistics to assess the quality of surveying calculations
  • Ability to assess whether data series contains gross or systematic errors and whether the quality of measurements satisfies
  • Ability to verify weighting of measured data

Skills

  • Perform instrument control of total station
  • Establish ground network using total station measurements
  • Use software to analyze and interpret surveying data according to standards
  • Master the use of instrument parameters in software
  • Planning, calculating, and assessing quality

General Competence
