Musicology - One-Year Programme
Program Overview
Musicology - One-Year Programme
The language of instruction in this programme is Norwegian.
Musicology
Music has played an important part at all times and in all cultures. In our globalized age, we encounter a larger musical diversity than ever before. The scale and significance, both in the life of the individual and in the larger social and cultural relations, has increased with the evolution of media and society.
Musicology asks questions about why music is as it is, about how it can be described and how knowledge about it can be passed on to others. To approach the answers to such questions, the one-year programme offers courses in:
- music history and analysis
- aural training and improvisation
- exercises in creating music
- music technology
- the possibility to further develop your own instrumental skills
Admission
Admission to the programme requires meeting the Norwegian language requirements, or having a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue. Additionally, applicants must meet the basic requirement for admission and demonstrate that they meet the English language requirements. The application deadline for the programme is April 15th. Students apply through Samordna Opptak.
