Introduction to STEAM Studio

The STEAM Studio is a premier summer day camp designed for 2nd- through 8th-graders to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in real-life applications while having fun, making friends, and creating memories at Miami University Regionals' campuses. The program aims to build tomorrow's leaders in STEAM by providing weekly themed activities that allow kids to imagine, design, and bring their ideas to life.

Sessions for 2nd- to 4th-Graders

STEAM Explorers | 2nd Grade

• Duration: 2-day session.
• Limit: 24 campers per campus.
• Camp Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Description: Perfect for those who love discovering how things work. Campers build teamwork skills, solve fun problems, and explore the connections between science, technology, and engineering.

Get STEAM-ed | 3rd 4th Grade

• Duration: 3-day session.
• Limit: 45 campers per campus.
• Camp Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Description: A fun-filled STEAM adventure designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Campers explore, build, and discover through engaging challenges.

Sessions for 5th- to 8th-Graders

June 15 18, 2026 | Middletown

• Culinary Chemist: 4-day session, limited to 45 campers. Blend cooking with STEAM, experiment with making boba balls, and discover the science behind favorite foods.
• Wilderness Engineers: 4-day session, limited to 45 campers. Build a shelter that withstands the elements, design a cooler from cardboard, or engineer a water still.

June 22 26, 2026 | Middletown

• Blast Off: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Explore the STEAM side of space and flight, and share creative solutions imagining the next era of space exploration.
• Creative Fusion: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Explore where art and STEAM converge, create stunning works of visual and musical art using coding and science.

July 6 10, 2026 | Middletown

• Amusement Engineers: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Explore the physics behind roller coasters and the engineering marvels that bring these attractions to life.
• STEAM HERizons: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Celebrate the achievements of women in STEAM, explore, create, and learn in a fun, supportive community.

July 13 17, 2026 | Hamilton

• Robot Masters: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Dive into the world of robotics, design, build, and program creations, and explore technology.
• Robot-IX: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Design, build, and code a robotic mascot, exploring STEAM careers in robotics. (Must have attended Robot Masters in 2025.)
• Marvels of Medicine: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Learn from Miami's Department of Nursing, explore biology and medicine, uncover the secrets of DNA and the systems that keep us alive.

July 20 24, 2026 | Hamilton

• Level Up: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Turn the love of gaming into hands-on creation, explore coding, design, and problem-solving, and build unique games.
• Ultimate Gamer: 5-day session, limited to 45 campers. Elevate gaming skills, experiment with 3D-modeling, and explore ESports and gaming careers. (Must have attended Level Up in 2025.)

July 27 30, 2026 | Hamilton

Daily Schedule

• 9:00 to 9:15 a.m.: Check-In
• 9:15 to 9:30 a.m.: Power Up! (Team-building games)
• 9:30 to 10:00 a.m.: Daily Kickstarter (Quick STEAM challenge)
• 10:15 to 11:30 a.m.: Workshop 1 (Science, coding, engineering, and more)
• Noon to 1:00 p.m.: Lunch and Recreation Time
• 1:15 to 2:30 p.m.: Workshop 2 (Science, coding, engineering, and more)
• 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.: Camper's Choice (Large-scale STEAM activities or creating a masterpiece)
• 3:45 to 4:00 p.m.: Power Down! (Check out and reflect on the day's experiences)
