Program Overview
America Reads America Counts Program
The America Reads America Counts (ARAC) Program is an initiative by Miami University's College of Education, Health, and Society (EHS). The program employs undergraduate students who are eligible for Federal Work Study and have a passion for serving in the local community, particularly working with children.
Program Description
The ARAC Program continues the tradition of employing all eligible undergraduate students with a passion for community service and working with children. As the program grows and partnerships develop, it is expected that both tutors and children will benefit from the collaborative work between the ARAC Program and its partner communities.
Why Join ARAC?

Qualifications for ARAC
To be qualified for the America Reads America Counts Program, one must:
- Be self-motivated and want to be involved in community service.
- Be qualified for work study.
- Have some experience or exposure to elementary-age children.
- Have a heart to see children build confidence and hope.
