Program Overview

Curriculum and Instruction - Master of Education

The Curriculum and Instruction program is a Master of Education degree jointly administered by the Departments of Teaching, Curriculum, and Educational Inquiry and Educational Leadership. This online program is designed to support those interested in multicultural, contextually relevant, justice-oriented education leadership, curriculum, and pedagogy/practice in both classroom and community spaces.

Program Overview

There are two tracks for students to choose from:

  • Early Career Teachers working in classrooms
  • Community-Oriented Educators working outside of classrooms The program centers Anti-racism, Community, Inquiry, and Agency as essential anchors that center justice and where conversations are rooted in a commitment to engage in intellectualism toward action. This is done through the development of critical consciousness, centering knowledge of communities and grassroots organizing, and engagement with socially and contextually relevant teaching/learning.
